Look for dolphins from a traditional dhow sailboat, snorkel the colorful coral of Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park and Reserve, explore Wasini Island, and enjoy beach time in Shimoni on this small-group overnight adventure from Mombasa. Cruise mangroves, visit the Slave Caves where enslaved people languished, and feast on four delicious meals, including a seafood lunch. For ease, your package includes round-trip hotel transfers.

Accordingly, all of our “Custom” packages are designed to be used as both standalone or as add on experiences. Depending on your budget and time, you have the option to book just one “Custom” package or several Custom packages to create a longer and more memorable experience!

Itinerary

Upon your arrival to Nairobi an English-speaking Explore-Kenya representative will greet you at customs and immigration. The representative will be holding a clearly marked page board with your name on it as you exit the arrivals hall. This representative will walk you through your welcome package documents and itinerary, and they will answer any questions you may have.

The representative will also facilitate the visa process for you. After completing the visa process, you will continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. Here you will be met by your driver for a private transfer to the smaller Wilson airport where you will take a 60 minute flight to Mombasa. Upon arrival in Mombasa, you will have the option to visit local shops and restaurants, relax at your hotel or – depending on the time – start your tour!

Days 2/3 – 7:30am departure to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park.

7:30am: Sail on a dhow cruise, spot dolphins, and snorkel in crystal-clear waters at Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park.
11:30am: Wasini Island, Shimoni Kenya. Indulge in a delicious seafood lunch, take a village walk, and explore the local culture.
1:30pm: Wasini Womens Group Boardwalk, Waterfront 100 Yards from Landing Coral Garden, Wasini Island Kenya; Mangrove Boardwalk and Coral Gardens.
2:00pm: Slave Caves, Shimoni Kenya. Immerse yourself in history with an optional tour of the Shimoni historical slave caves, where slaves were once detained.
2:45pm: Back to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park and Reserve for afternoon snorkeling/dophin watching.
5:45pm: End of tour. Return to hotel for dinner and/or engage in optional activities as listed above.

Day 4 – Early a.m. departure. You will have a private transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi. You will then have a private transfer to Jomo International Airport for your trip home! Until next time…
