This tour is designed such that you will have the option/time to engage in additional activities at the conclusion of the tour! This package comes with the option to add activities as described below under “Optional Activities.”
Take a 4-day safari from Nairobi to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Park. Meals, accommodation, and game drives are all included. The locations visited will be determined by your expert guide as they have an intimate understanding of the daily routines of animals and how best to track them. You will visit several wildlife hot-spots with an aim to espy elusive animals such as the leopard. After a thrilling afternoon game drive, you will be returned to your lodge in time for a delicious safari dinner.

As most of our Custom tours are two to three days longs, we feel that this will allow our customers greater flexibility in putting together a memorable vacation experience!
Accordingly, all of our “Custom” packages are designed to be used as both standalone or as add on experiences. Depending on your budget and time, you have the option to book just one “Custom” package or several Custom packages to create a longer and more memorable experience!
Itinerary
Upon your arrival to Nairobi an English-speaking Explore-Kenya representative will greet you at customs and immigration. The representative will be holding a clearly marked page board with your name on it as you exit the arrivals hall. This representative will walk you through your welcome package documents and itinerary, and they will answer any questions you may have.
The representative will also facilitate the visa process for you. After completing the visa process, you will continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. Here you will be met by your driver for a private transfer to the smaller Wilson airport where you will take a 60 minute flight to Mombasa. Upon arrival in Mombasa, you will have the option to visit local shops and restaurants, relax at your hotel or – depending on the time – start your tour!

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
At 7:00 AM you will be picked up from your hotel and commence your trip to Masai Mara via the great Rift Valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley. Here you will see the semi-active Mount Longonot and 2 other dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa, and Mt Margret. During this stop you will have the opportunity to take memorable photos, scenic views of the escapments, you can also do a little snack shopping to keep your spirits on point.
You will arrive at Masai Mara around 8am. After a brief welcome and refreshments, you will start your 5 hour game drive in search of the worlds most breathtaking wild animals such as simba (Lion),elephants, leopards ,cheetahs, diverse bird-life, elephants, giraffes, zebra’s and more!
You will enjoy a delectable lunch before you finish your game drive. Then you will head back to your hotel camp for dinner and to prepare for early am departure to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Day 2: Visit a Masai Village/Depart Masai Mara to Nakuru
At 7:00 AM you will be picked up from your hotel to commence your trip to a Masai village. The Masai village tour is an authentic experience. From cooking ugali in a manyatta, beadwork, lighting a fire traditionally, milking a sheep, dancing, singing and jumping, you get to experience the authentic daily life of a Masai.
We will visit the local primary school upon request. After you are done with the activities, the Masai will display some of their handmade items for purchase. Buying any of these items is optional. You also get a chance to donate. This is also optional. Our stay in the village lasts 2 hours. After saying our goodbyes, we head back to your hotel and leave for Lake Nakuru National Park.
9:30am: Depart for Lake Nakuru. We will take a 1hr and 20 charter flight from Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru around 11:30. After getting settled in your hotel, we will have lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive. After dinner you will have the option to attend an evening game drive or relax in your hotel.
Day 3: Nakuru to Nairobi
7am. You will have breakfast at the camp and thereafter commence a morning game drive to spot more of the Big Five animals. You will also have the chance to see the park’s famous flamingos and other bird species in their natural habitat. After lunch, we will prepare for our return to Nairobi. You will arrive in Nairobi around 3pm. Upon checking into your hotel you will have the option to have dinner and engage in any optional activities or simply visit local shops/restaurants or relax at your hotel!
Day 4: Departure…
You will have breakfast and check out of your hotel by 11am. You will have a private transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi. You will then have a private transfer to Jomo International Airport for your trip home! Until next time…
