Tour Summary: Four Day Safari
This tour is designed such that you will have the option/time to engage in additional activities at the conclusion of the tour! This package comes with the option to add activities as described below under “Optional Activities.”
Take a 4-day safari from Nairobi to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Park. Meals, accommodation, and game drives are all included. The locations visited will be determined by your expert guide as they have an intimate understanding of the daily routines of animals and how best to track them. You will visit several wildlife hot-spots with an aim to espy elusive animals such as the leopard. After a thrilling afternoon game drive, you will be returned to your lodge in time for a delicious safari dinner.

Tour Overview:

Accordingly, all of our “Custom” packages are designed to be used as both standalone or as add on experiences. Depending on your budget and time, you have the option to book just one “Custom” package or several Custom packages to create a longer and more memorable experience!
Itinerary
Upon your arrival to Nairobi an English-speaking Explore-Kenya representative will greet you at customs and immigration. The representative will be holding a clearly marked page board with your name on it as you exit the arrivals hall. This representative will walk you through your welcome package documents and itinerary, and they will answer any questions you may have.
The representative will also facilitate the visa process for you. After completing the visa process, you will continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. Here you will be met by your driver for a private transfer to the smaller Wilson airport where you will take a 60 minute flight to Mombasa. Upon arrival in Mombasa, you will have the option to visit local shops and restaurants, relax at your hotel or – depending on the time – start your tour!
Arrival – Settle at hotel; meal; 15 minute welcome/meet and greet, remarks and review itinerary; visit local shops/restaurants (optional), relax at your hotel or – depending on the time – start your tour!
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
At 8:00 AM you will be picked up from your hotel and commence the drive to Masai Mara via the great Rift Valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley. Here you will see the semi-active Mount Longonot and 2 other dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa, and Mt Margret for 10 minutes. You will arrive in time for lunch. Check in the hotel. Later at 4:00 PM depart for a 2-hour game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve until 6.00 PM. Return to the camp for a sumptuous dinner ending with a good time for resting at the camp.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara Reserve
Early breakfast at 6:30 AM and depart for a full-day game viewing. This is the most important day since we are hoping to see the big five, especially the big cats which are extremely illusive. Also, we will visit the famous Mara River where the great migration happens, have a guided tour by the rangers to see the Nile crocodiles and hippo families and to top it off have a picnic lunch under a tree in the park overlooking the vast landscapes.
It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
Day 3: Depart Masai Mara to Nakuru
You will have breakfast at the camp and thereafter commence a drive to Nakuru to arrive there in the late evening and check-in and overnight.
Day 4 – Early a.m. departure. You will have a private transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi. You will then have a private transfer to Jomo International Airport for your trip home! Until next time…
